It is an exciting time to reenter the artistic space, and online formats are constantly evolving.

Though this substack, I release music, videos, and other art. During the past 12 months I released the DREAMING AUSTRALIA body of songs and introduced some of my themes in these pages. A range of videos and images went with this music. The idea of Dreaming Australia yet holds true and I’ll continue to create on this theme. Over time I’m introducing new projects, and to feature other musicians and artists in my circle. The PROFFANATION project has now launched in 2024 and the first beginnings are in these blogs. This is the forum for my arts before it hits the public proper. You’ll hear it here first!

One of the positive consequence of a deconstructed music industry is that the artist is now much nearer to the audience, and we have these formats to explore communication like never before.

Personal Connection

I am a firm believer that the artist needs an audience and that art is never just for the sake of the art.

For those of you subscribed to my journalism substack DREAMING AUSTRALIA, think of I DO IT WITH MY MOUTH as a spiritual complement or salve for the relentless truth-telling of the other format.

I consider myself first of all an artist, and this newsletter is the attempt to out-myself in artistic self expression.

Please join me on this journey.

Who is Jason Freddi?

JASON FREDDI is at the forefront of cross-cultural events on indigenous lands, most notably the Bonnet Series, which pioneered an artist-exchange program from Central Australia into North-East China beginning in 2019.

After an earlier career in music and Shakespearean drama, Jason ventured into movie-making, acting the lead role in Luis Bayonas' 2018 feature film, 'Virtual Dogs, Loaded Guns' alongside Australia screen legend John Waters. We then produced the infamous #trumpmytrump which went twitter viral and featured in reports from ABC Australia to the Washington Post, Jerusalem Times and elsewhere.

He has a passion for cultural sharing and friendship with Aboriginal Australia, attending the Uluru Statement Form the Heart summit in 2017 and actively supporting the not-for-profit charity, Dreaming Australia Inc, dedicated to Kids on Country, not in Custody.

Music wise, Freddi has played regional festivals, toured China as a cultural ambassador and worked with some of the countries most celebrated producers, among them being Roger Bergodaz (Tex Perkins, Mia Dyson), David McLuney (Nick Cave, Dave Graney, Mick Harvey) and now ISAAC BARTER (Mick Flannery, Didirri, Goanna) on the DREAMING AUSTRALIA songs.
